Tuberculosis Infection Control Plan Template For Jails

Printing Instructions

The website was designed to provide maximum flexibility for users. Users can download files to a local directory for editing purposes or print a complete version of the template or individual policies and procedures, flow charts or appendices and resources. The appendices and resources include sample forms, checklists, and reference materials. The resources are provides in a separate section of the website and reappear when associated with individual policies and procedures files.

To modify a file, download it and save it to a diskette or hard-drive for revisions. To assemble either the complete template or individual sections, use the detailed Directory and File List provided below as a reference guide. Use this list as a reference when selecting files to view, print, or copy from the website. To assemble the entire Jail Template, organize the sections in the following sequence:
  • Introduction & Instructions

  • TB ICP at a Glance

  • TB ICP Index

  • Introductory Materials

  • Individual Policies & Procedures (20)

    • "At-A-Glance" charts. Individual At-A-Glance charts can be inserted into a binder or printed on a tab. These charts provide a quick overview of the individual policy and procedure identifying expected actions and outcomes along with a reference to the necessary resources.

    • "Flowchart" (if provided). A small number of policies and procedures include an algorithm (P&P 2, 8, and 16)

    • "Plan Template" is the customizable P&P files that are a part of the plan document. These files are provided in both .doc and .rtf format. For an explanation of .doc and .rtf files, see the page Using the website.

    • "Appendix" indicates a form or instructions that may be either in modifiable .doc/.rtf formats or in nonmodifiable, read-only .pdf format.

Use the following information to ensure that the correct pages are printed.

Locating section and page numbers
This first step is to locate section to be printed. Refer to the bottom left of the Word window (in default setups).

Users will see: Page #      Sec #    # / ##

For example, in the first page of the table of contents you see:
Page 1   Sec 2    3/18
The table of contents is section 2. Page numbering restarts at the beginning of each section. The table of contents' first page is page 3 in the sequence of pages in the entire file, and 18 is the total number of pages in the current file.

Printing by section:
When printing by individual policy and procedure, use the section page number.
  1. Open the print dialog box by pressing Ctrl-P or clicking File/Print.
  2. Click the Pages radio button.
  3. In the Pages textbox,
    • For a particular section, type the section number to be printed. For example: s#
    • For noncontiguous sections, type each section number separated by commas. For example: s#, s#, s#
  4. Click OK.
For example, after opening the complete template, go to Policy and Procedures 1: Assessing the TB Transmission Risk in the Jail. This is list as Section 5 of the template. To print the entire policy, go to the print command and type s5 in the Pages textbox.

Printing by page:
Remember that the section page number is the page number on the left, NOT the page number on the right.
  1. Open the print dialog box by pressing Ctrl-P or clicking File/Print.
  2. Click the Pages radio button.
  3. In the Pages textbox,
    • For noncontiguous pages, type each page number followed by its section number with commas between them as p#s#,p#s#
    • For page ranges within a section or page ranges across sections, type the first page number with its section number then a hyphen then the last page number with its section number as p#s#-p#s#
  4. Click OK.
